Engine In!

Actually the engine has been in for a while now, I have just been lax in writing about it. The car was available to pick up just a couple of days before the Club Dino Italia meeting at Lake Garda after the engine rebuild and a freshen up of the engine bay and ancillaries. One problem they found was a worn weight in the distributor. This was fixed by putting an insert in. The guys at Girola motors did a fantastic job and the car performed faultlessly for the whole 3 days of the club event. As I was running the engine in I was limited to about 3000rpm which made for a long motorway drive in hot weather to get there, but was fine around the picturesque lake roads. I covered about 700km during the weekend and am really looking forward to exploring the higher rev range with the high compression pistons after the running in period has finished and I have taken the car back to have the heads tightened and a general check over. While working on the car the guys noticed the exhausts need changing (there are small holes starting to appear) and the front suspension bushes need replacing. Always something to do (and pay for!).
